Audio News Release

Radio news bulletins reach literally millions of listeners every day – at home, in their cars, in the office, and via the internet.

MediaLink’s Audio News Release (ANR) service helps clients get their message across by leveraging the power of radio.

How does it Work?

MediaLink’s experienced journalists and professional sound recordists work with you to record an interview on your newsworthy topic. We ensure your responses are the best possible answers – delivered clearly, and on message. Remember, this is designed for Radio News where the best answers often last only 10-15 seconds.

The interview is edited choosing the best and most appropriate responses. A professional introduction is recorded – outlining what the topic is about and details of the interviewee.

The entire package is loaded as an audio file on to our servers. On your chosen launch day, MediaLink alerts all targeted radio broadcasters to your story using a n Audio News Release advisory containing story background details and simple instructions on how to access the audio information.

Radio stations simply log-on to access and download the audio file, which is then ready to be used on air.

Immediately after distribution, MediaLink provides you with an independent, detailed report on the ANR’s usage. This is a difficult yet critical aspect of distribution, because if you do not know who aired your ANR you don’t know if it worked.

The ANR Advantage

  • It is a service free of charge to the radio newsrooms, providing them with access to newsworthy interview grabs.
  • It delivers ‘hard to catch’ people to radio newsrooms at a convenient time.
  • It frees-up your spokesperson to get on with their job rather than spending all day on the phone to a long list of radio stations.
  • The ANR ensures your spokesperson does not get flustered or confused on the phone or in a press conference.
  • You can make sure the answers given are in your best interest.
  • Often the ANR prompts more in-depth discussion on talkback radio.

ANR Cost Advantage

The cost of producing an Audio News Release is relatively low compared to a full scale Video production. The cost is even less if you include an ANR with your Video News Release (VNR) project. The interviews included in the VNR can be re-used for the ANR. Our professional production, unparalleled distribution, strong relationships with newsrooms, personalised service, and technological innovation are designed to give you the best results.
