Australia Post Legends Stamp Series
“I’m going to be licked by millions of Australians … and I can’t wait,” laughed Cate Blanchett as she was named one of the 4 Academy Award winners to be featured on the Australia Post Legends Stamps series. Also honoured were Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and Geoffrey Rush. TV and radio access to the stars for interviews was not possible on the day, so MediaLink Productions sent a VNR to the Australian TV newsrooms featuring pre-recorded interviews with the actors and movie critic David Stratton, as well as shots of the stamps being designed. The footage and interviews ran in 154 TV news items and numerous news websites across the nation. An Audio News Release (ANR) delivered via email to radio networks featured in radio news bulletins across every state. Think you might have a newsworthy VNR? Contact us.
Dysport
New Hope for Stroke Survivors. MediaLink Productions produced a VNR featuring Dysport, a drug which helps relax the muscles of stroke survivors who often have very stiff and tightly constrained arms and hands. The good news is that Dysport, once an expensive treatment, is now available free through the PBS. The VNR included footage of a stroke survivor being treated with Dysport, and interviews with the patient and his doctor. The story ran on Seven News with more than 300,000 viewers.
ID Fraud Awareness Week
Identity fraud is one of the fastest growing crimes in Australia, with half a million victims in the past twelve months at an estimated cost of $1 billion to the economy. MediaLink Productions created a VNR for the launch of National Identity Fraud Awareness Week, backed by CrimeStoppers and Fellowes Australia. This video is an example of how the VNR footage and interviews were used by the TV Newsrooms.
